Romanian police assist in recovery of BMW
Estimated value: £44,300
This stolen BMW was traced to Romania where it had been re-registered after being illegally exported from the UK while still on finance. After alerting local authorities, the Romanian police force located and seized it the same day.
Thames Valley Police warrant finds over £100k of stolen vehicles
Estimated value: £100,000
A Swift Sundance motorhome and Land Rover Discovery were among four vehicles found to be on false registration plates on a farm in Maidenhead. The motorhome showed clear signs that the cab had been replaced and was registered as an insurance total loss in Poland.
Investigations are ongoing to identify the true owners of the vehicles.
Successful Yorkshire investigations by rural team
Estimated value: £100,000
After visiting two sites in Yorkshire, NaVCIS rural team recovered multiple vehicles with an approximate value of £100,000. The first site revealed a cloned Transit van and a stolen motorhome. The second site housed stolen building equipment including a pair of one tonne dumpers and a TB260.
One arrest was made and enquiries are ongoing.
Stolen finance vehicle recovered in Lithuania
Estimated value: £24,000
Following an investigation by NaVCIS, intel was passed to a Lithuanian attaché on the possible location of a stolen BMW.
Lithunian police recovered the vehicle in Vilnius.
NaVCIS intervention stops stolen diggers at Bulgarian border
Estimated value: £20,000
NaVCIS were made aware of a Bulgarian HGV which had been seen near a farm where a warrant was executed by Thames Valley Police. After notifying Bulgarian authorities, the HGV was stopped at the Bulgarian border with Romania.
Upon searching the vehicle, two JCB mini diggers with fake VIN plates were found. Investigations are ongoing to establish the true identities and owners of the machinery.
