Two stolen vehicles stopped at port

During routine inspections at Southampton docks, NaVCIS officers located two stolen cars on false registration plates due to be exported to Zimbabwe via Namibia.
A Range Rover Autobiography which was stolen from Cheshire in March along with a Mini Cooper which was reported as stolen after failing to be returned to Sixt Rental in Manchester in April.
Toyota Rav 4 spotted by NaVCIS officer
Estimated value: £25,000
While conducting enquiries into stolen plant equipment in the Beckton area of London, NaVCIS officers located a 2020 Toyota Rav4 on false registration plates. The car was stolen two day earlier from a Hotel car park.
The vehicle has now been returned to the owner, who was contracting in the local area.
Rural officers in multi-agency operation
Estimated value: £10,000
During an operation with Cambridgeshire Police towards the end of April, NaVCIS rural officers identified a stolen Forst Chipper.
The chipper was stolen in Essex in 2022.
Trailers recovered in Derbyshire
Estimated value: £12,000
NaVCIS rural officers engaged in a joint operation with Derbyshire Police. During the check, two stolen Ivor Williams trailers were recovered.
The trailers were valued at approximately £6000 each.
NaVCIS freight identifies stolen cargo
Estimated value: £19,800
While working with Derbyshire Constabulary, NaVCIS were asked to support in identifying the rightful owner of a consignment of high value spa pools.
NaVCIS links with cargo insurance partners helped to determine that the pools had been stolen for a HGV in South Yorkshire and the pools were returned to the company.
